Holosona
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
This is a game heavily inspired by Plants Vs Zombies. I've always dreamed to make a humanoid version of the game. In this game, you are a scientist who is using holograms to fight off the robot uprising. Robots have become self-aware and it's up to you to save the world!
For now, the game is unfinished and barely playable. I hope you still enjoy it.
How To Play:
Left click on slots to buy and left on the grid to place the bought "Holosona".
Each robot needs four hits to be killed for now. Also indicated by their look(How much they've worn up)
You will gain 100 "Holo orbs" every kill.
The game will never end, even if the robots go pass the screen. I just uploaded this here for a proof of concept. And I also wanted to know if players would actually like my game or not. Life wasn't so forgiving on me and I don't know if I can keep developing this anymore. But hey, if I get at least one download, I'll keep going. Also, let me know what you guys think in the comments down below.
Also yeah, I am very broke.

Ran out of space lmao! You have to click a lot with your mouse in the later parts. You get too much energy and there are too many enemies. That could be a way you could expand on the gameplay. A tower defense game that tests your reflexes and mouse skills instead of the usual focus on strategy and planning. Anyhow, good job, the models look nice though I feel the anime girl model feels weird when placed in bulk. She looks like the main character instead of a base unit. There is a lack of sound effects but the sounds that do exist are good.
Thank you for the positive feedback! Wow, that's such a high number of holo orbs you got there haha. I am glad you enjoyed it. There will be more characters to play with in the future updates alongside with actual levels that progress with waves. For now, this is just a prototype.
so feed back. I know it is still a prototype. If you happen to keep developing, try changing the view a little bit perspective. You made 3D models so why not show how they are pretty. Of course from a distance where you can see all grid. There are other things but since this is a prototype, I won't say much. But you do need to revamp the gameplay loop a bit more interesting. I suggest you should focus on that instead of models first. But if this is your first game, you did great job. I'm also learning godot so good luck.
Thank you for your feedback. It's nice to see a fellow game developer. Yes, I am also not satisfied of the perspective but the placement would otherwise not be able to show the characters without overlapping too much. I did my experimentations and decided this was the best. Also, they are 2d now. They were 3d models but I rendered them and just put them as animated 2d sprites. I really want to show how pretty they are too but I have no idea how. Making them 3d would compromise a lot more GPU than I would like. I am thinking about showing their detailed sprites when hovered by mouse.
